Banff Weddings & Lake Louise Weddings on the Ski Hill

Banff & Lake Louise Ski Weddings

As a Banff & Lake Louise Wedding Planner; I get all types of couples looking to get married in their own special way.

The most recent adventurous couple had a ski hill wedding. Now many of you may think it is as simple as hiring everyone on your own and meeting up at the ski hill. Yes...last year that is exactly what I thought too! It turns out there is much more to it than that. I spend hours getting the timing exactly right so the Groom does not see the Bride when she gets off the gondola, getting the right shape of bouquet for the bride to safely hold onto with her ski pole, deciding hair appointments really were not essential with the wind & snow let alone a helmet!

Choosing the perfect quite location on the ski hill is a special time for the Bride & Groom which I encourage them to do the day before the wedding. If I am lucky, I can join them halfway through the day to do a few runs to ensure I know the location off by heart and relay the location to the Marriage Commissioner, Photographer, Videographer and any guests that will attend. Now there is nothing to say that your ceremony will be completely crash free especially if you find a popular jump sought after by avid snowboarders!

When all is said & done a Banff wedding or Lake Louise wedding on the ski hills can be an exceptional and unique experience for couples from all over the world who wish to incorporate their wedding in a Canadian Rockies ski vacation.

Planning weddings in Banff & Lake Louise give me one of those rare opprotunities to say "And they skiied happily ever after..."

Fresh new look.

We could not be more pleased with the new look for our website. Our goal was to create an experience for the Bridal couple while they were visiting us.

Now...we all know some couples are so busy they at times take a "mental break" & research for their wedding at work. Well...at the suggestion of our designer, we've left the music off this time to lessen your chances of getting noticed!

Best wishes in your planning endeavors and we hope to hear from you to take your wedding to the next level.

Tricia & Rob at The Juniper

photos courtesy Eric Daigle Photography
Rob & Trish had asked me to plan their Intimate Wedding in May of 2008. I was delighted of course and began planning for this long awaited event right away. I had already hand picked all the suppliers & venue based on Trish & Rob's unassuming & easy going personalities. They wanted to emphasize family & friends as well as honour those who could not share their special day with them.
The ceremony took place on the terrace facing Rundle Mountain with their son as ring bearer & daughter as flower girl. It was moving to see all of the wedding party were in fact family members to the Bride & Groom.
The reception took place in the Vermillion Lakes room where guests enjoyed the Juniper's culinary delights including a decadent chocolate fountain with fruit. Chocolate was most definitly the theme here with chocolate covered pretzel favours & "bear claws". The cupcake tier was you guessed it.....more chocolate!
Testimonial:
Connie Grace took care of all the wedding details for us & we trusted her enough to leave for a whole month returning only 2 weeks before our wedding! Our questions were from the very beginning answered within hours and she really listened to what we felt was important to us. We were matched to a photographer that suited our budget & personalities as our Planner was very intuitive and sensitive to our needs. We were so well looked after and amazed at how beautiful & seamless our day went….we did not have a care in the world!

A note from the Wedding Planner

I arrived in Banff in the late 90's to work for the prestigious Fairmont Banff Springs (then Canadian Pacific) in Banquet Operations where I had my first taste of the wedding industry. My career with Fairmont took me to the Conventions department (after I was awarded Employee of the year for 2005 for Fairmont's flagship hotel) where I assisted wedding couples with their "in house" wedding arrangements.

Throughout my time in Conventions I noticed many couples brought their Planners and Coordinators from Calgary; this created a massive additional cost for couples as all of their suppliers required overnight accommodation, meals etc. This is when I took the leap to go out as an independent Wedding Planner.

I am now a proud member of the Association of Bridal Consultants on the Consultant level and working my way toward the Professional Bridal Consultant designation. My ultimate professional goal is to reach the Master level which of course takes a few years.

As I had been certified as an International Wedding Planning Professional (IWPP) last winter, I wanted to ensure that I do not lose my edge and continue with professional development courses with ABC.

I believe when a Bride & Groom are "shopping around" for the perfect planner it is important not only to connect with their Planner but to have someone who is established in the community and is going to provide them with an unrivalled level of knowledge & service throughout the planning stage.

On that note; if you are planning your wedding in our area please visit our "Services" page for more information.

Please visit again soon as I am still have plenty more 2008 weddings to add.

Thank You,

Connie Grace
